Classes, activities, and programs sponsored by the Monroe Arts Alliance are open to the public. Where indicated, events may be specifically for children or for adults.

March 14, 2010: Reception and Awards, Youth Art Show

Highlighting the creative talents of Monroe County Students, the fourth annual Youth Art Show will take place March 1 through March 31, 2010 at the Monroe County Public Library in conjuction with National Youth Art Month.

Entry deadline was February 12. The reception and presentation of awards will be Sunday, March 14 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the library in Union.

April 18. 2010: Margaret Mann and Paul Theissen in concert

On their next visit to the USA from Germany, Margaret Mann and her husband Paul Theissen will perform a concert of voice and piano sponsored by the Monroe Arts Alliance. The concert will be Sunday, April 18 at 3:00 pm at the Union Presbyterian Church and will be followed by a reception for the artists. More details will appear on this website.

To be rescheduled: "Negative Painting: The Essence of Watercolor"

This class, by Jeanne Brenneman, will be held at Genevieve Gillen's Gallery near Union. The cost is $65.00. For information, call 304-645-3050 or visit www.jeanne-brenneman.com.

Art Club at JMHS

The Monroe Arts Alliance is providing start-up support, for the acquisition of art supplies, to the new Art Club at James Monroe High School.

Adam deGraff, renowned violinist/fiddler, teacher and friend of the Arts Alliance, gives a benefit concert at 3pm on Sunday, February 14 at Ames Clair Hall in Union.
