Oil Painting Workshop with Patt Legg, June 13-15, 2008

Patt Legg of Salisbury, North Carolina, will teach an oil painting workshop, "The Old Masters Way" June 13, 14, and 15, at the Gillen Gallery, Swopes Knob, Union. This workshop is under the auspices of the Monroe Arts Alliance.

The Attic Window Patt Legg is the owner of the Burgundy Rose Studio in Salisbury, North Carolina. She formerly had galleries in Frankford, Lewisburg and White Sulphur Springs. Her oil paintings are in homes and businesses of southern West Virginia and in Virginia; in addition, Legg has taught scores of painters. Her art work was shown in ten galleries in this area and currently exhibited in nine galleries in North Carolina. She had several solo exhibitions at Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg.

Patt Legg studied with David Weaver of Ansted, WV, and Robert Anderson of Lewisburg. Patt Legg's work varies from larger murals to miniature porcelain pieces. A forthcoming Legg show in North Carolina "A world within 35 square inches" will contain 50 miniatures she has painted. Skilled in the Flemish Realism style, Legg lectures in college art classes. The majority of her work is in portraiture.

Not only recognized for her artistic accomplishments, Legg is also known as a nurturing, excellent teacher. She works equally well with beginners and with long-time painters.

Patt Legg is a member of Greenbrier Artists, Professional Artists Group, Oil Painters of America, Portrait Society of America, and she was juried into Tamarack.
